The Regent of Lumajang, Indah Amperawati, personally visited a resident undergoing intensive medical treatment at dr. Haryoto Regional General Hospital on Monday (22/6/2026). This visit was made in response to an incident that befell the victim while carrying out activities around the material flow path of Mount Semeru last weekend.
The presence of Lumajang Regency's top official is a form of concern from the local government toward affected residents. On that occasion, Bunda Indah, as the regent is affectionately called, ensured that the entire medical team has provided optimal treatment to support the victim's health recovery process.
She also expressed appreciation to the health workers who acted swiftly from the moment the incident occurred. The main focus at present, according to Bunda Indah, is maintaining the patient's stability to minimize the risk of further complications during the recovery period.
Furthermore, Bunda Indah reiterated the importance of safety aspects for residents engaging in activities within disaster-prone zones. The public is urged to be more disciplined in adhering to official government recommendations regarding the activity dynamics of Mount Semeru to avoid unwanted potential dangers.
The Lumajang Regency Government is committed to continuing to monitor the victim's condition until full recovery. In addition to providing healthcare services, education regarding disaster mitigation in volcanic areas will continue to be strengthened as a preventive effort to reduce risk levels for the local community.
