PT Bursa Efek Indonesia (IDX) is reportedly preparing strategic changes regarding the selection mechanism for stocks placed on the Special Monitoring Board (PPK). This step is being taken as an effort by the exchange authority to strengthen supervision while providing a more accurate picture of the business health of listed issuers to investors.

Until now, placing stocks in the special monitoring category has often been based on technical trading indicators, such as liquidity levels, *free float* ratios, and suspension history. However, this approach is deemed to insufficiently reflect the substantial quality of company performance, often creating a disproportionately negative stigma for issuers that actually have strong fundamentals.

Going forward, IDX plans to make a paradigm shift by placing the financial fundamentals of issuers as the primary indicator. This change is expected to dispel misconceptions in the capital market while ensuring that the exchange's supervision is more targeted at companies experiencing real operational or governance challenges.

With this new policy, it is hoped that the investment climate on the Indonesia Stock Exchange will become healthier and more transparent. Market participants will also find it easier to distinguish between issuers that are merely hindered by temporary liquidity issues and those facing serious fundamental challenges, allowing investment decisions to be made more accurately and objectively.
