The 33rd edition of the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) was officially opened by the Minister of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia, Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, on Thursday (30/7) at BSD City, Tangerang. The country's largest automotive exhibition is scheduled to run for 11 days until August 9, 2026, presenting various future vehicle technology innovations and serving as a stage for global manufacturers to showcase their products.
In his speech, the Minister of Industry expressed deep appreciation to GAIKINDO for successfully maintaining the existence of this exhibition for more than three decades. The government considers GAIKINDO to be a consistent strategic partner in guiding the development of the national automotive industry, both during periods of growth and when facing economic challenges.
This year's event set the largest record in the history of GIIAS, with the involvement of more than 65 global automotive brands from Japan, South Korea, Europe, the United States, China, and Vietnam. Not only vehicle manufacturers, the exhibition is also enlivened by more than 150 companies from the automotive supporting industries.
General Chairman of GAIKINDO, Putu Juli Ardika, emphasized that the national automotive industry continues to show strong resilience amidst global economic dynamics. He hopes that GIIAS 2026 will be able to boost market optimism while accelerating industrial growth, and strengthening Indonesia's position as a vehicle production and export hub in Asia.
For the public wishing to visit, GIIAS 2026 entry tickets can be purchased online through the Auto360 platform for IDR 50,000 for weekdays and IDR 100,000 for weekends. Alternatively, on-site ticket purchases are also available for IDR 75,000 on weekdays and IDR 125,000 on weekends.
Following Tangerang, the GIIAS The Series 2026 roadshow will visit Surabaya, Bandung, Semarang, and Makassar. GAIKINDO also announced a new expansion by presenting GIIAS Bali for the first time in late January 2027 at The Meru Sanur, in order to expand the reach of the national automotive market.
