The Indonesian rock climbing contingent delivered an impressive performance at the 2026 World Climbing Series held in Krakow, Poland, from July 3 to 5. In the prestigious competition, the Indonesian team managed to collect four medals, consisting of one gold, one silver, and two bronzes out of five speed discipline events contested.
Bali-born athlete Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi took center stage after recording a stellar achievement by claiming three medals. Desak successfully won gold in the women's individual event after recording the fastest time of 6.54 seconds, outperforming host athlete Natalia Kalucka. In addition to gold, she also contributed a silver medal in the mixed relay alongside Antasyafi Robby Al Hilmi, as well as a bronze medal in the women's relay with Rajiah Sallsabillah.
Despite having to concede victory to the United States pair in the mixed relay event, the Robby-Desak duo still stole the spotlight after sharpening the Asian record with a time of 11.19 seconds in the semifinals. Meanwhile, the fourth medal—a bronze—for Indonesia was delivered by Raharjati Nursamsa in the men's individual event with a time of 4.79 seconds.
Overall, these results placed Indonesia third in the medal tally, competing closely with China and the United States, who dominated the top spots. This achievement underlines the consistency of Indonesian rock climbers on the world sports stage, while serving as valuable momentum for the national team looking ahead to upcoming international competitions.
