The Regional Government of Gunung Mas Regency officially opened the Capital Market School program specifically aimed at State Civil Apparatus (ASN) in the region. The event, which took place in the Hall of the Public Works Department on Thursday (9/7/2026), is part of the Road to Integrated Capital Market Socialization and Education 2026 series, organized in collaboration between the Regional Government, OJK Central Kalimantan Province, and the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX).
Regional Secretary of Gunung Mas, Richard, who attended representing Regent Jaya Samaya Monong, emphasized that this education is crucial amidst the rapid development of financial technology. According to him, the ease of digital access today is like a double-edged sword; on one hand, it facilitates transactions, but on the other hand, it opens loopholes for widespread scams such as illegal investments, illegal online loans, and unlicensed online revolving funds.
Through this training, civil servants are expected not only to be proficient in managing personal finances productively and safely, but also to have sufficient literacy to distinguish between legal and illegal investment instruments. The Gunung Mas Regency Government encourages employees to start looking at capital market instruments such as stocks and mutual funds that are officially registered and strictly supervised by competent authorities.
Furthermore, the role of civil servants is expected to go beyond personal interest. As public servants in direct contact with the public, civil servants are encouraged to become education agents in their families and the broader community. The goal is to shield the public from unreasonable profit promises that often lead to massive financial losses.
The event, which also presented representatives from Korea Investment and Sekuritas Indonesia, highlights the region's commitment to strengthening financial inclusion. The local government hopes that with comprehensive knowledge, civil servants can set an example for the public in making logical, rational, and responsible financial decisions.
