The Bengkulu City Government is becoming increasingly aggressive in strengthening the region's position as a competitive investment destination. This concrete step was demonstrated by the Head of the Investment and Integrated One-Stop Services Office (DPMPTSP) of Bengkulu City, Sri Putri Yani, who attended the Business and Investment Forum during the XVIII National Working Meeting (Rakernas) of the Association of Indonesian Municipalities (APEKSI) 2026 in Medan on Wednesday (1/7/2026).

The forum, held in the Medan Baru area, brought together heads of investment offices from across Indonesia with various stakeholders, ranging from business actors to potential investors. The meeting focused on synchronizing regional policies to create a healthy, transparent, and legally secure investment ecosystem for capital owners.

Public service transformation was one of the central issues discussed in the forum. Municipal governments are encouraged to continuously modernize licensing systems by emphasizing digitalization to ensure faster, more efficient, and easily accessible processes. This is considered crucial for building investor confidence in committing capital to the regions.

Sri Putri Yani emphasized that the Bengkulu City delegation's attendance is a manifestation of the local government's commitment to expanding economic collaboration networks. For her, this forum serves as a space to exchange best practices between regions in managing local economic potential—ranging from tourism to creative industries—so they have higher added value in the national market.

Furthermore, she stated that investment is a key catalyst for accelerating development in Bengkulu City. Her office is committed to establishing a professional and investment-friendly business climate. Through this participation, it is hoped that synergies will be established that are not only economically beneficial, but also have a direct impact on job creation and improving overall public welfare.

This year's APEKSI National Working Meeting also generated ideas regarding the formulation of a collective inter-city investment roadmap. This strategic step aims to build stronger regional competitiveness while solidifying Bengkulu City's position as a promising investment destination in Indonesia.
