Commission I of the West Bandung Regency Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) issued a strong warning to the local government regarding the handling of the Mount Pasarean slope excavation case in Singajaya Village, Cihampelas District. The sealing measure taken by the West Bandung Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) is considered merely a start and insufficient to resolve the legal issues occurring on the ground.
Chairman of Commission I of West Bandung DPRD, Sandi Supyandi, emphasized that the local government must conduct a comprehensive audit of the project. The scope of the investigation includes legal licensing aspects, spatial planning compliance, and the ecological impact resulting from the land excavation activities.
The urgency to resolve this case stems from the project site's location directly above residential areas, educational facilities, and places of worship. Given the risk of disaster threatening the safety of residents below the slope, the legislature demands decisive legal certainty if regulatory violations are found.
Sandi added that the DPRD will continue to exercise its oversight function by coordinating with relevant regional agencies. He stressed that the entire law enforcement process must be conducted transparently and accountably as a preventive measure and a lesson for other parties not to ignore environmental and spatial planning regulations.
