Member of the Gunung Mas Regency Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), Neni Yuliani, is paying serious attention to the development of the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) sector in her region. She emphasized that the local government has a strategic obligation to provide intensive assistance so that business actors do not struggle alone in facing increasingly competitive market dynamics.
Neni assessed that although the region's economic potential is abundant, its development realization is still not optimal. Therefore, she encouraged the relevant regional apparatus organizations (OPD) to be more proactive in designing substantive development programs, covering managerial capacity building to technical operations for business actors.
Furthermore, the Democratic Party legislator emphasized that the strategy for strengthening MSMEs must not be limited to capital aspects alone. The main focus must also be directed at improving the quality of human resources, so that business actors have the ability to process local natural resource wealth into value-added products that have higher quality standards.
According to her, the transformation of raw products into finished or semi-finished goods will not only boost the local economy, but also create new jobs for the community in her constituency, which includes Kurun, Mihing Raya, and Sepang sub-districts.
On the other hand, she also urged local business actors to continue to innovate, especially in the culinary and handicraft sectors. Neni hopes that the public can shift to supporting local products, considering that their quality is now increasingly able to compete with products from outside the region, while also strengthening the economic independence of Gunung Mas Regency.
