A sub-district head in the Tomoni area, East Luwu Regency, is now dealing with the police after allegedly assaulting his own business partner. The incident occurred at Uncel Disk Barbershop on Jalan Trans Sulawesi, Mandiri Village, on Saturday (11/7) afternoon at around 4:00 PM WITA.

Head of Public Relations of the East Luwu Police, Second Inspector Mustajuddin, explained that the main motive behind the act of violence was triggered by the perpetrator's frustration over alleged fraud committed by the victim. The perpetrator, who is a close relative of the victim, initially trusted him when asked to provide capital for opening a barbershop. However, after the funds were handed over, the victim failed to provide clarity regarding the business and disappeared.

In addition to financial issues, the perpetrator's anger peaked due to alleged defamation of his parents. The victim reportedly spread stories to others claiming he was treated like a servant while staying at the perpetrator's parents' residence. This was seen as damaging the honor of the sub-district head's family.

As a result of the beating, the victim reportedly suffered an open wound on his left temple. Head of Criminal Investigation Unit at East Luwu Police, Police Commissioner Assistant Jody Dharma, confirmed that the sub-district head is currently undergoing intensive questioning at the Mangkutana Police Station to further investigate the actual motive and chronology of the incident.
