EQuest Education Group, together with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and Phu Xuan University, has officially established a strategic partnership through the signing of a memorandum of understanding. This collaboration aims to establish the Emerging Institute of Technology (IMT) located at the Phu Xuan University campus, marking a concrete step in the development of technology-based higher education in Vietnam.
The new institute will offer undergraduate programs focusing on crucial sectors such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data science, industrial systems engineering, robotics, and semiconductor development. Under this partnership framework, AIT will act as the primary academic partner responsible for ensuring curriculum quality, faculty development, and facilitating international research.
One of the added values for IMT students is fast-track access to pursue postgraduate studies at AIT with lower costs and a shorter duration. This initiative is seen as a strategic effort to expand access to international-quality education while meeting the rapidly growing demand for skilled technology professionals.
AIT President, Professor Pai-Chi Li, stated that this cooperation is the initial foundation for an ambitious, long-term partnership. He expressed optimism that this collaboration could serve as a blueprint for the creation of an international-standard university in Vietnam focused on high-level innovation and research.
Meanwhile, the local government, represented by the Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Nguyen Manh Cuong, expressed full support for this step. He emphasized that collaboration between the private education sector and global institutions aligns strongly with Vietnam's vision of accelerating digital transformation and positioning the country as a regional hub for tech innovation.
