Hundreds of students at the Al-Hamidiyah Foundation, Tanjungsari Village, Pabuaran District, Serang Regency, received free health checkups and Human Papillomavirus (HPV) immunization. This program was realized through a collaboration between the Student Community Service (KKM) Group 53 of Bina Bangsa University (UNIBA) and the Pabuaran District Health Center (Puskesmas).
This preventive measure targeted school-aged groups, including all vocational high school (SMK) students from grades X to XII, as well as Islamic junior high school (MTs) students in grades VII and IX. Specifically, female students in grade IX of MTs received the HPV vaccine as an early step to prevent viral infections that could trigger cervical cancer at an early stage.
The Head of Health, Environment, and Food Security of KKM 53 Tanjungsari explained that this initiative was designed to make a real impact on the local community. According to him, early detection is an important foundation for building healthy habits, while HPV immunization provides long-term protection for the reproductive health of the younger generation.
The Pabuaran District Health Center welcomed this synergy. Amid the rapid shift in modern lifestyles affecting the physical condition of teenagers, medical staff emphasized that early education and preventive actions are crucial to ensuring a healthier future for the students.
Although some students felt anxious before receiving the vaccine injection, persuasive education from the medical team successfully convinced them of the immunization's vital benefits. Through this social initiative, the awareness of the younger generation in the Pabuaran region is expected to continue rising, both in maintaining a clean lifestyle and in disease prevention.
