Honoring Their Region, Polinema Table Tennis Athlete Wins Silver at Porseni XV 2026

A student of State Polytechnic of Malang (Polinema), Zahira Audita Afraneta Andini, has successfully achieved a brilliant feat on the national stage. The table tennis athlete from Batu City won the silver medal (2nd Place) at the 15th National Polytechnic Sports and Arts Week (Porseni XV) 2026, held at State Polytechnic of Medan (Polmed).

Competing in the biennial event held from July 24 to August 1, 2026, Zahira was the sole representative of Polinema in the table tennis sport. The fifth-semester student of the Applied Bachelor (D4) Marketing Management Study Program had to compete fiercely against hundreds of the best vocational talents from all over the country.

Zahira's journey to the podium was marked by extraordinary effort. In the group stage, she performed dominantly and emerged as the pool winner after defeating the host delegation from Polmed and State Polytechnic of Batam. Her consistent play continued in the semifinals, where she successfully defeated the representative from State Polytechnic of Lampung to secure a ticket to the final match.

In the final match, Zahira's run was halted after she conceded victory to an athlete from State Polytechnic of Banjarmasin. Although she had to settle for second place, this achievement remains a source of great pride for the Polinema academic community and the sports community of Greater Malang, especially Batu City.

This success was made possible by two months of intensive preparation under the guidance of coach and team official Nanda Rama Rineksa. The coach praised the hard work of his student, who was able to perform to her maximum potential and bring home a medal despite the relatively short preparation time.

Nanda also hopes that this achievement will serve as momentum to improve a more sustainable table tennis development ecosystem, particularly in Batu City. According to him, solid collaboration between athletes, coaches, parents, sports officials, and the local government is crucial to producing outstanding athletes at both national and international levels.
