PT Indosat Tbk. (ISAT) has reaffirmed its commitment to accelerating the adoption of cutting-edge technology by extending Vikram Sinha's term as President Director and Chief Executive Officer. This strategic decision, agreed upon by the Board of Commissioners, designates Vikram to helm the company for the next five years.

The main mandate given to Vikram is to lead the company's transition toward an 'AI TechCo', a business model that makes artificial intelligence the core of operations and product development. This plan will later be presented at the upcoming Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGMS) for official approval.

President Commissioner of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, Nezar Patria, stated that this decision is a reflection of full confidence in the management's performance since the merger in 2022. The board of commissioners believes that Vikram's leadership has successfully brought the telecommunications issuer to a more competitive level, especially in executing the 'AI North Star' strategy.

Furthermore, Nezar emphasized that Indosat is now focused on strengthening sovereign artificial intelligence (sovereign AI) in the country. This step aligns with the company's ambition to generate more progressive growth in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) in the future.

The transformation undertaken by Indosat is not limited to cellular connectivity but also extends to cybersecurity, cloud computing, and corporate digitalization. Through strategic partnerships with global players like NVIDIA, the company is now developing digital infrastructure such as Sahabat-AI and GPU Cloud services to meet the computing needs of developers and institutions in Indonesia.
