YOGYAKARTA - The Wirobrajan Sector Police (Polsek) has tightened supervision over the detention cells at the Command Headquarters (Mako) through routine inspections led directly by the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Wirobrajan Police. This proactive step was taken to ensure the health conditions of the detainees and to keep the detention cells sterile from dangerous and prohibited items.
The inspection included a thorough physical check of the detainees as well as monitoring the cleanliness of the facilities inside the cells. The police are committed to fulfilling the basic rights of detainees, including access to proper healthcare and a clean environment during detention to prevent the transmission of diseases.
In addition to focusing on health, officers also searched every corner of the cells to prevent the presence of prohibited items such as sharp weapons, communication devices, or drugs that could potentially disrupt security. This preventive measure aligns with the Yogyakarta City Police's commitment to maintaining order and security within the internal police environment.
This surveillance effort is also supported by the synergy of police personnel in various other areas of Yogyakarta, such as the community security and order (kamtibmas) coordination actively carried out by the Bhabinkamtibmas (Community Policing Officers) to create a sense of security and resolve potential social conflicts in the community amicably.
