DENPASAR - To maintain security stability and public order (kamtibmas), the Kuta Sector Police (Polsek) have intensified preventive measures through night patrols. This effort, dubbed the "Blue Light Patrol," targets several crime-prone areas, nightlife centers, and main protocols in the tourism area of Kuta, Bali.
The security operation, which took place over the weekend, was led directly by the Kuta Police Supervisory Officer (Pawas), Inspector I Ketut Ngurah Sukarja. Officers patrolled strategic routes, while traffic personnel were specifically deployed along the Sunset Road route to the Kedonganan Bypass to minimize potential illegal racing activities that often disturb residents in the early hours of the morning.
In addition to conducting mobile patrols, the police also implemented a dialogic approach by visiting residential areas, shopping centers, ATM facilities, and nightlife venues. During these visits, officers urged the public and business owners to increase vigilance regarding their belongings and to immediately report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
Head of Public Relations for the Denpasar Police, Inspector I Gede Adi Saputra Jaya, explained that this step represents the National Police's (Polri) presence in the community. The main focus of this patrol is to suppress the potential of "3C" crimes (burglary/theft with force, robbery/violent theft, and motor vehicle theft), illegal weapon possession, distribution of alcohol, and the use of noisy exhausts that disturb public order.
Until Saturday morning, this preventive operation proceeded smoothly without any reports of prominent incidents or illegal racing. Kuta Police are committed to consistently conducting similar patrols to ensure the safety of tourists and the smooth running of the economy in Bali's tourism sector.
