The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Kemkomdigi) highlighted the urgency of developing domestic digital talent as the main foundation for winning technology competition on the international stage. The quality of human resources is now viewed as far more crucial than just physical infrastructure development alone.
Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital, Nezar Patria, stated that amidst the rapid development of artificial intelligence and the transformation of the digital ecosystem, highly capable talent will be the differentiator. He emphasized that human expertise can bridge infrastructure gaps while accelerating national competitiveness in the global market.
According to Nezar, changes in the technological competition landscape no longer rely solely on hardware mastery, but on innovation capacity. Therefore, Indonesia is urged to immediately strengthen its human resource capabilities so as not to be trapped as mere consumers, but to be able to become an integral part of the global technology value chain.
Furthermore, Nezar acknowledged that Indonesia still faces major challenges in strengthening its position in the international technology supply chain, especially in the computing and artificial intelligence sectors. The strategy of strengthening digital talent is believed to be the most effective answer to increasing national capacity in responding to highly dynamic technological changes.
