Jakarta — The era of global technology competition is shifting from merely physical infrastructure development to strengthening human resource (HR) quality. The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Kemkomdigi) emphasized that digital talent is the main pillar determining Indonesia's bargaining position in the world's technology competition landscape, especially amid the massive implementation of artificial intelligence (AI).
Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital, Nezar Patria, highlighted that the exponentially occurring digital transition demands an adaptive workforce readiness. According to him, human intellectual capacity is the most crucial asset to match the pace of technological innovation so that Indonesia does not become just a market or passive user.
The government is currently placing digital talent capacity building as a national strategic priority. This step is taken to ensure that the local workforce possesses relevant competencies to operate, manage, and create AI-based innovations, thereby contributing directly to a sustainable digital economy in the future.
