The Health Laboratory Center (Labkes) of South Kalimantan Province is currently actively educating workers in the agricultural and plantation sectors on the urgency of early detection of pesticide impacts. This effort is focused on Cholinesterase (CHE) testing, a laboratory method that measures enzyme levels in the blood to monitor indications of agricultural chemical poisoning in the body.
The Head of the UPTD Kalsel Health Laboratory Center, Arlan Prabowo, emphasized that cumulative exposure to pesticides often does not show immediate clinical symptoms. Therefore, regular screening is crucial as a preventive tool so that potential health issues can be anticipated before they become chronic.
This service specifically targets farmers, plantation workers, and pesticide spray operators who have high daily exposure rates. The results of the test will serve as a reference for medical personnel in developing treatment steps and appropriate prevention recommendations for workers to ensure that occupational safety is maintained.

This CHE test is now available at the UPTD Kalsel Health Laboratory Center at a rate of IDR 120,000.
