The Academy of Public Administration and Management hosted an interactive discussion bringing together participants of the "Global Young Business Manager" international training program with leading industry executives. The dialogue featured Dr. Ko Tae Yeon, representing the Korean business community in Vietnam, and Huong Vu, General Director of EY Vietnam Consulting. Both outlined a career readiness roadmap amidst the rapidly changing dynamics of the global job market driven by high-tech penetration.
In his presentation, Dr. Ko Tae Yeon highlighted the massive shift in Vietnam's economy, which is now increasingly dominated by high-value-added sectors such as artificial intelligence (AI), the semiconductor industry, data centers, and smart manufacturing. This transition, according to him, demands a young generation that possesses not only specialized technical skills, but is also adaptable to new technologies, maintains a collaborative work ethic, and has a deep understanding of local context.
Furthermore, Dr. Ko emphasized that job opportunities are no longer limited to the conventional manufacturing sector. Modern fields such as smart logistics, supply chain management, data analytics, digital marketing, and environmental governance now open wide avenues for young professionals who keenly observe the direction of market changes.
Meanwhile, the General Director of EY Vietnam Consulting, Huong Vu, shared a global perspective on the importance of building professional standards early on. She emphasized that a successful international career does not necessarily begin with working abroad, but rather from high discipline and responsibility in completing daily tasks in one's current work environment.
Huong Vu also dissected the challenges of the modern workplace, characterized by cross-border collaboration and the massive adoption of artificial intelligence. According to her, young talent is required to be fast learners (fast learner) and possess high resilience under pressure. She underscored the importance of integrating technical skills with relationship-building abilities and a strong adherence to professional ethics.
This collaboration serves as an important momentum for the "Global Young Business Manager" program in bridging the academic world with real industry needs. Through close synergy between educational institutions and business leaders, participants are expected not only to master business theory, but also to translate that knowledge into concrete career development plans to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and South Korea.
