The Provincial Government of Central Sulawesi (Pemprov Sulteng) has recorded a significant achievement in the public service sector, with as many as 185,000 residents benefiting from the "Berani Sehat" health insurance program. Since its official launch in April 2025, this initiative has been specifically designed to cut bureaucracy and ease access to medical treatment for all levels of society in the region.
The Vice Governor of Central Sulawesi, Reny A. Lamadjido, expressed her deep appreciation to medical personnel during a working visit to Morowali Regency. According to her, the success of this program is inseparable from the dedication of healthcare workers in the field, who serve as the spearhead in directly serving the community.
Reny explained that the "Berani Sehat" program is now being eyed by other regional governments in Indonesia as a pilot project. The main advantage of this insurance scheme lies in its administrative simplicity, where residents only need to present their Central Sulawesi Identity Card (KTP) to receive fast and free medical treatment.
More than just reactivating suspended BPJS Kesehatan (National Health Insurance) memberships, this program also covers emergency medical expenses not covered by the National Health Insurance (JKN) scheme. These services include forensic medical examinations (visum) for victims of violence, medical treatment for victims of street crime and robbery, as well as strengthening ambulance facilities and the transportation of deceased bodies.
To maximize preventive efforts, the Vice Governor of Central Sulawesi urged all Community Health Centers (Puskesmas) to intensify the Free Health Check-up Program (CKG) as an early disease detection measure. She also appreciated the commitment of the Morowali Regency Government, which has actively revitalized Puskesmas facilities to ensure quality, fast, and equitable healthcare services.
