High spirits surrounded the departure of the East Luwu Regency contingent, set to compete in the 2026 South Sulawesi Provincial National Student Sports Olympiad (O2SN). A total of 20 selected student athletes were officially sent off by the Regional Secretary of East Luwu Regency, Dr. Ramadhan Pirade, in the courtyard of the Regent's Office on Monday morning (6/7/2026).
These young athletes from elementary and junior high schools will compete in Makassar from July 7 to 9, 2026. They will vie for tickets to the national competition, participating in various sports ranging from athletics and swimming to pencak silat and sport climbing.
In his address, Dr. Ramadhan Pirade emphasized the importance of maintaining sportsmanship and self-confidence throughout the competition. He expressed hope that the delegation from Bumi Batara Guru would not merely compete, but also achieve brilliant accomplishments that bring honor to the region at both provincial and national levels.
This send-off reflects the continuous support of the East Luwu Regency Government for nurturing young sports talent. Through this event, the local government aims to produce healthy, competitive athletes with a champion mindset for the nation's future.
