The Hulu Sungai Selatan (HSS) Regency Government has taken the initiative to accommodate public enthusiasm for the grand 2026 World Cup event. Through local government support, residents of Kandangan can now watch global football match broadcasts together in a public area.
The joint watch party (nobar) is centered at the Basketball Court in the Lambung Mangkurat Field area, Kandangan. This facility was provided as a space for social interaction as well as entertainment for residents to experience the atmosphere of international football competitions in the heart of the city.
On Friday (10/7/2026) morning, a festive atmosphere was observed during the match between the France national team and Morocco. The event was attended directly by the Vice Regent of HSS, Suriani, alongside the Head of the Youth, Sports, and Tourism Office (Disporapar), Dody Puriyandhani, and several other local officials.
The presence of officials among the community is expected to strengthen social bonds among residents while enjoying sports broadcasts. The HSS Regency Government is committed to continuing to provide beneficial public spaces for the community to support positive activities in the region.
