The Financial Services Authority (OJK) is strengthening the foundation of the Financial Sector Technology Innovation, Digital Financial Assets, and Crypto Assets (IAKD) industry in Indonesia. This move is realized through strengthening regulatory frameworks, enhancing governance standards, and guaranteeing stricter consumer protection to navigate the rapid evolution of global financial technology.

Chair of the OJK Board of Commissioners, Friderica Widyasari Dewi, emphasized the importance of maintaining a balance between technological innovations such as artificial intelligence and asset tokenization and the stability of the national financial system. According to her, updating regulations through financial sector laws is a crucial step so that the government remains capable of responding to the dynamics of rapidly changing digital business models.

As a tangible commitment, OJK is preparing the 'IAKD Roadmap 2026-2031'. This strategic document is designed to create a visionary ecosystem based on four core principles: affordability, integrity, agility, and sovereignty. It is hoped that the roadmap will drive financial market deepening while providing maximum protection for the public.

Latest data from OJK records significant growth in this sector, with the number of financial service aggregation users exceeding 18.29 million, while digital financial asset and crypto investors reached 22.4 million. Furthermore, collaboration between technology innovation providers and conventional financial service institutions recorded an impressive total of 1,346 partnerships.

Chief Executive of IAKD Supervision at OJK, Adi Budiarso, added that synergy among regulators, industry players, academics, and the media is the main key to ensuring the sustainability of this sector. With a professionally managed ecosystem, OJK is optimistic that Indonesia's IAKD industry will become increasingly competitive and make a tangible contribution to the national economy and MSME development.
