The Ministry of Defense (Kemhan) of the Republic of Indonesia has reaffirmed the state's presence on Indonesia's frontlines through a humanitarian initiative at the Napan State Border Crossing Post (PLBN), North Central Timor (TTU) Regency, on Thursday (10/7/2026). This event targeted 200 local residents, providing access to healthcare services and distributing basic food supply packages as a tangible expression of care for border communities.
This social initiative is part of the Defense Area Security and Empowerment Program (PPWP). The Director of Health of the Directorate General of Defense Capabilities at the Ministry of Defense, First Marshal TNI dr. Mukti Arja Berlian, explained that this initiative aims to improve residents' living standards while strengthening national resilience in the region directly bordering Timor-Leste.
According to dr. Mukti, development in border areas should not rely solely on physical infrastructure, but also on the social welfare and health of the community. He emphasized that a healthy society is a fundamental asset for national sovereignty. The synergy between the TNI (Indonesian National Armed Forces), healthcare personnel, and local government is expected to foster a resilient and harmonious border environment.
Furthermore, dr. Mukti stressed that border regions should be viewed as spaces for collaboration and brotherhood. Through these activities, the government hopes to strengthen social ties and instill a spirit of nationalism in Indonesia's outermost regions to support the realization of the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision.
The event involved cross-sector collaboration featuring elements of the TNI, local government, and local health authorities. The presence of these various entities was appreciated as a concrete step toward building national solidarity at the nation's front doorstep, while ensuring basic service access reaches all segments of society down to the remotest border areas.
