LONDON — The venture capital arm of global aerospace and security giant Lockheed Martin, Lockheed Martin Ventures, has officially expanded its operational reach to the European region by opening a new office in London, UK. This strategic expansion is accompanied by a committed investment allocation of at least USD 100 million targeted to inject capital into defense technology startups across the continent.
This investment is specifically designed to strengthen military capabilities and bolster the transatlantic security supply chain. The expansion is also supported by a significant increase in Lockheed Martin Ventures' total assets under management, which has now surged to USD 1 billion from its previous USD 400 million. This effort is made to address the growing demand for sovereign defense solutions in the European region.
The physical presence of the new office in London is expected to accelerate the integration of early-stage innovative technologies directly into major defense platforms. In addition to driving innovation, this move also aims to deepen partnerships with allied nations in facing modern geopolitical challenges.
