Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) is scheduled to begin its Campus Life Orientation for New Students (PKKMB) series on August 11, 2026. Carrying the theme "Together with UNS Shaping an Active, Inclusive, Humanist, Adaptive, and Globally Competitive Generation," this event is designed as a bridge for newcomers to adapt to a university environment that is far more complex than high school.

The transition from a structured school education to higher education is often a psychological challenge for new students. Demands to independently manage time, adapt to a heterogeneous social environment, and handle increasingly intense academic pressure often trigger anxiety and a drop in self-confidence. Therefore, PKKMB 2026 serves not merely as an orientation event, but as an educational platform to strengthen mental health from an early stage.

Throughout the event series, the university emphasizes that campus social interactions—involving diverse backgrounds—should be viewed as opportunities for innovation rather than sources of anxiety. Students are encouraged to build supportive networks to create an inclusive environment. Additionally, effective time management and prioritizing key tasks are crucial to maintaining a balance between academic performance and personal well-being.

The campus recognizes that maintaining mental health is a crucial preventive step. Consequently, UNS introduced the "Sasmita Jiwa" counseling service as a facility for students requiring professional assistance regarding psychological or academic issues. This service is available to all active students through an integrated online registration system, offering support via both in-person and virtual consultation sessions.

Through this commitment, UNS affirms that a student's future success is not solely determined by academic grades. The ability to maintain mental stability and emotional resilience is an essential foundation for students to grow into tough, adaptive individuals ready to make meaningful contributions on the global stage.
