President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that accelerating the resolution of the nation's problems currently depends heavily on the effectiveness of technology utilization. In his view, digital instruments function as a bridge that allows the government to receive public aspirations directly, so that any obstacles in the field can be handled more swiftly and precisely.
Speaking before the participants of the National Symposium of the Indonesian Science, Technology, and Industry Convention (KSTI) 2026 in Jakarta, Sunday (28/6/2026), the President exemplified how social media platforms are able to channel reports from remote areas directly to his desk. For him, the courage to face difficulties must be accompanied by openness to solutions coming from various layers of society, including from the youth in villages.
While appreciating digital efficiency, the Head of State still offered critical notes regarding the dark side of technological progress. He illustrated that innovations like nuclear technology, behind its massive potential for energy and medicine, harbor the threat of destroying civilization if not managed with high integrity.
Highlighting the rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the President challenged academics, particularly professors and senior academics, to be more proactive in studying the impact and moral challenges of this technology. According to the President, a deep understanding of the limitations and potential of AI is crucial so that the progress achieved continues to bring benefits to humanity.
