Universitas Hasanuddin has officially appointed Prof. Sukri Palutturi as the new helmsman of the Postgraduate School. This appointment is seen as a strategic move by the university to strengthen the institution's position as a center of excellence for multidisciplinary education that is adaptive to global challenges.
Born in Tanatoa in 1972, Prof. Sukri is known as an academic with a long track record. He completed his bachelor's and master's degrees at FKM Unhas, before pursuing his doctoral studies at Griffith University, Australia. This international experience serves as a strong foundation for him in developing research in health policy, administration, and environmental issues.
Before taking on his new mandate at the Postgraduate School, he achieved significant success as the Dean of FKM Unhas. Under his leadership, the faculty transformed into a center for evidence-based health policy and successfully implemented the 'Healthy Cities' concept in various regions across Indonesia. His commitment to transparent governance was also demonstrated by his strong drive to establish an Integrity Zone toward a Corruption-Free Area (WBK).
Not only skilled in management, Prof. Sukri's scientific productivity is also widely recognized. With a Scopus H-index of 12 and a wealth of publications bridging academic theory and public policy practice, he is frequently a national reference for healthcare stakeholders. His work extends beyond the campus, participating in strategic discussions ranging from stunting issues to strengthening primary healthcare services.
Now, under the leadership of Rector Prof. Jamaluddin Jompa, Prof. Sukri is tasked with the major responsibility of leading the Postgraduate School. His main focus includes improving the quality of master's and doctoral education, strengthening interdisciplinary research, and expanding international collaboration networks. His inauguration is expected to stimulate Unhas to continue generating innovations relevant to national development.
