The Indonesian Table Tennis Association (PTMSI) of Maluku Province is preparing to hold its Provincial Deliberation (Musprov) on Monday, July 20, 2026. This strategic agenda, centered in the 5th Floor Hall of the Maluku Provincial DPRD Office, Karang Panjang, Ambon City, is hoped to be a turning point for the revival of table tennis in the land of kings.
The Chairman of the Maluku PTMSI Musprov Organizing Committee, Musriadin Labahawa, explained that the main focus of this grand meeting is the restructuring of the organization. This consolidation step is deemed crucial so that athlete development programs at the district and city levels can run in a more directed and sustainable manner.
"This Musprov is not just a routine agenda, but an important momentum to close ranks. We want to ensure that the passion for table tennis grows fertile again in all corners of Maluku, including in the Central Maluku region," said Labahawa while providing information in Masohi, Thursday (17/7/2026).
Labahawa, who currently serves as the Chairman of Commission IV of the Central Maluku Regency DPRD, declined to comment much on the issue of his candidacy to lead the organization. The doctoral graduate from the Indonesian Christian University of Maluku (UKIM) chose to prioritize the smooth running and success of the Musprov first, although he did not deny offers to strengthen the regional management.
To date, the committee notes that 10 out of 11 regency/city management boards in Maluku have confirmed their attendance. Meanwhile, the remaining region is finalizing its internal administrative process and is expected to contribute to the success of this four-yearly sporting event.
