Amid the rapid penetration of digital technology, a creative initiative has emerged to bridge the gap between the world of online entertainment and religious education. The Roblox Muslim Community (RMC) is now present as a virtual space offering a platform for the younger generation to deepen their Islamic literacy in an interactive and fun way.
The founder of RMC, Alfi Maulana, revealed that the community's journey began with very simple steps. Without large financial backing or an established organizational infrastructure in the early stages, the main intention was simply to provide a friendly learning ecosystem for young people on a platform that has long been known as an online gaming medium.
“Da'wah must be able to reach the audience where they are, without losing the substance and Islamic values that form its foundation,” Alfi said. According to him, utilizing platforms like Roblox and Discord is a tactical strategy to embrace the digital generation so they remain connected to religious teachings amidst the abundance of entertainment.
Organically, RMC has continued to grow rapidly. In a span of about four months, the community has successfully gathered more than 20,000 members on Discord, as well as tens of thousands of followers on social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram. The study sessions held are also regularly filled with hundreds of enthusiastic participants.
Despite the significant growth in members, Alfi emphasized that quantity is not RMC's main focus. Its top priority is to create a safe space for the younger generation to discuss, strengthen their morals (akhlak), and build a positive social environment in the virtual world.
Looking ahead, RMC plans to continue expanding its activities by building a more comprehensive ecosystem. Not limited to study sessions, the community is committed to presenting leadership training, social programs, and digital literacy collaborations, which are expected to make a real contribution to strengthening Islamic values in the modern era.
