The Jepara Regency Government successfully created a festive celebration atmosphere through a public watch party (nobar) for the 2026 World Cup held at Jepara Town Square 1 on Saturday (5/7/2026). In addition to providing entertainment for residents, this event strategically served as a platform to drive the economy for local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
Public enthusiasm was visible from late afternoon as the square area was packed with visitors wanting to watch the round of 16 of the grand football tournament. The presence of the official 2026 World Cup mascots—namely Clutch from the United States, Zayu from Mexico, and Maple from Canada—added a special attraction that enlivened the atmosphere at the venue.
Business owners felt the direct impact of the crowd. Linda, a local vendor from Mulyoharjo, expressed her gratitude as the surge in spectators directly correlated with an increase in her sales turnover. For her, the Jepara Regency Government's initiative to facilitate public viewings via videotron in public spaces provides tangible economic benefits for small communities.
Meanwhile, attending spectators felt very entertained by the event. Nur Rohman, a resident from Mlonggo, said he intentionally came with his friends to experience the sense of togetherness while supporting their favorite teams in the knockout stage. The matches screened that day featured Morocco against Canada, and Paraguay against France, ending in victories for Morocco and France.
The public viewing event is planned to continue being facilitated by the Jepara Regency Government throughout the round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup. This step represents a tangible manifestation of local government synergy in providing productive public spaces while offering ongoing support for creative economy and MSME growth in Jepara Regency.
