Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has once again expanded its smart home ecosystem by introducing its latest innovation, the Mijia Smart Bathroom Heater P1 Human Sensing Edition. This bathroom heating appliance combines three main functions in one: a space heater, a lighting system, and a ventilation fan.
The main advantage of this smart device lies in its adoption of a 24GHz radar sensor to detect user presence in the room. This radar technology is claimed to be much more sensitive than traditional infrared sensors, which often fail to detect someone's presence if they remain still for too long.
With this radar-based detection system, the device operates entirely automatically. The lights turn on when a person is detected entering, the ventilation fan immediately starts to maintain air circulation, and the system shuts down on its own when the room is empty. Users can also adjust the sensor's sensitivity and range to prevent the device from turning on accidentally when someone simply passes in front of the bathroom door.
For space heating, Xiaomi has embedded a 3,000-watt graphene heating element. The performance of this heater is supported by variable frequency control technology, which adjusts power output to maintain a stable temperature without having to constantly operate at maximum capacity, resulting in significantly lower energy consumption. The distribution of warm air is delivered through dynamic swing air vents with angles ranging from 60 to 90 degrees to ensure even warmth down to the floor area.
The Mijia Smart Bathroom Heater P1 Human Sensing Edition is scheduled to launch its crowdfunding campaign in the domestic Chinese market next week. This modern household device is offered at a promotional price of 999 yuan, which is approximately equivalent to Rp2.66 million.
