The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Central-Central Highlands Branch, in collaboration with Vietnam Commercial Trust Bank (Vietbank), hosted a strategic workshop in Da Nang on July 3, 2026. The gathering focused on crucial efforts to improve cash flow management and streamline access to capital for businesses amid uncertain economic dynamics.

Although data indicates that over 62% of VCCI member businesses managed to maintain revenue stability in early 2026, challenges related to input, logistics, and labor costs remain a heavy burden. This is particularly true for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that have traditionally relied heavily on property collateral, whose value frequently fluctuates in the current market.

During the workshop, there were strong calls for a mindset transformation within the banking sector. Instead of relying solely on physical assets as primary collateral, banks are expected to start prioritizing evaluations based on cash flow efficiency, financial reputation, and credible business plans. This step is viewed as a concrete solution to break the capital access deadlock that has long hindered business expansion.

In response, Vietbank has begun implementing a more flexible credit policy by incorporating receivables, inventory turnover, and operational assets as collateral components. Deputy General Director of Vietbank, Pham Linh, emphasized that the bank now positions itself not merely as a lender, but as a strategic partner providing financial management guidance to business owners.

Experts, including Dr. Truong Van Phuoc, stressed that the responsibility for economic recovery does not rest on one side alone. Businesses are urged to enhance financial data transparency and cash flow management discipline. By building a clean and transparent 'digital identity,' businesses can strengthen their bargaining position with financial institutions while boosting operational resilience against intensifying market competition.
