The Financial Services Authority (OJK) reported positive growth in Indonesia's crypto asset sector throughout May 2026. The transaction value of digital assets reached Rp23.01 trillion, representing a slight increase of 0.11 percent compared to the previous month's figure of Rp22.98 trillion.

Executive Head of Financial Sector Technology Innovation, Digital Financial Assets, and Crypto Assets Supervision at OJK, Adi Budiarso, emphasized that this upward trend proves public trust remains strong amidst market dynamics. This is further reinforced by a surge in the number of investors, which reached 22.4 million accounts in May 2026, a 3.17 percent increase compared to April.

In addition to crypto assets, the digital financial asset derivatives sector also demonstrated expansive performance. Derivative transaction value rose by 11.67 percent to Rp5.69 trillion. This growth was supported by the diversification of instruments managed by official crypto exchanges, namely PT Central Finansial X (CFX) and PT Fortuna Integritas Mandiri (ICEX).

To date, OJK has granted official licenses to 32 entities, including exchanges, clearing houses, custodians, and digital financial asset traders. As part of its supervisory commitment, OJK also continues to evaluate new license applications and enforce discipline among industry players.

As a risk mitigation measure, OJK imposed administrative sanctions on five operators during June 2026. This action was taken to ensure that all business actors adhere to good governance principles and prioritize consumer protection within the country's growing digital asset ecosystem.
