The Vietnam Young Physicians Association, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and local authorities, successfully held a series of large-scale health screenings in Hue City and Dong Nai City on July 11-12, 2026. This initiative is a concrete step towards realizing Politburo Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW on strengthening public health protection and the Prime Minister's Directive on free periodic health screenings for all citizens.
This program marks a paradigm shift in national healthcare, moving from a focus on curative treatment to proactive care through early detection and sustainable health management. By leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and integrated electronic medical records on the VNeID platform, young doctors aim to create a more comprehensive, equitable, and efficient population health management system.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Tu, Standing Vice President of the Vietnam Young Physicians Association, explained that this activity is part of a national campaign to mobilize 25,000 young medical professionals. This ambitious target includes direct examinations for 150,000 people and disease screening for 1.5 million residents using AI-based technology across the country throughout 2026.
During its implementation in Hue and Dong Nai, thousands of residents received comprehensive health services, ranging from clinical examinations to basic laboratory tests. In addition to medical assistance, this event was also accompanied by social welfare programs, including the distribution of medical equipment for grassroots health posts, scholarships, and aid for underprivileged citizens, to ensure equal health access for all levels of society.
The Vietnamese government highly appreciates the strategic role of young doctors in accelerating digital transformation in the healthcare sector. Looking ahead, this service model is projected to continue expanding to various remote areas to build a national healthcare ecosystem that is more resilient and adaptive to the future needs of the community.
