The paradigm that running is always synonymous with gasping for breath and extreme exhaustion is now beginning to shift. A new fitness trend originating from South Korea, namely slow jogging, offers a lighter physical activity alternative while still delivering significant health benefits to the body.

Technically, slow jogging is performed at a very relaxed pace, ranging between 3 to 5 kilometers per hour. This speed is nearly equivalent to a brisk walking pace, allowing practitioners to converse comfortably without feeling out of breath mid-workout.

Although the movement appears slow, various medical studies show that this method is able to burn energy more optimally than regular walking. This activity consistently activates major muscles, particularly in the quadriceps, lower back, and glutes. The calorie-burning effectiveness, which is up to twice as high, makes this method a popular choice for those wanting to focus on reducing belly fat.

It is worth noting that this concept is not an instant fad, but rather the result of over 40 years of in-depth research developed by the late Professor Hiroaki Tanaka from Fukuoka University, Japan. Through this extensive research, Tanaka formulated this relaxed running technique as a sustainable fitness solution accessible to people of all ages.
