Carrying the theme "Comfortable Market, Empowered Economy", this agenda is specifically designed to increase the vitality of traditional markets amidst the rapid flow of modernization. This activity aims to strengthen social interaction while restoring the appeal of public markets as clean and conducive centers for economic transactions for the surrounding community.
The excitement of the event will be guided by the hosting duo Dina Trinil and Gospeng. The organizers are presenting various free entertainment to attract visitors, one of which is a traditional jathilan art performance, which is a local cultural icon in the Moyudan area. In addition to public entertainment, the event also provides a forum for interactive discussion between visitors and traders.
The educational session is packed in the form of an interactive talk show presenting the Secretary of Commission C of the Sleman Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), Untung Basuki Rahmat, along with representatives from the Sleman Regency Financial and Asset Management Agency (BKAD). This discussion will dissect regional economic development strategies as well as the implementation of sustainable modern market management for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The Head of Sleman Disperindag, Dwi Wulandari, emphasized that the modernization of traditional markets does not only focus on physical renovation, but also targets improving the competitiveness of traders so they can "upgrade". The local government also continues to encourage the digitalization of payment methods and the optimization of digital promotion so that traditional traders can reach a wider market without losing their original identity.
Through the GEMPAR program, the Sleman Regency Government is also trying to support the success of the Proud of Indonesian Products Movement and the Increase in the Use of Domestic Products (P3DN). Prior to visiting Ngijon Market, similar movements were successfully held in several strategic locations, such as Godean Market, Gamping Market, Tempel Market, Prambanan Market, and Kebonagung Market.
