The East Kalimantan Regional Police (Polda Kaltim) are currently investigating the suspected involvement and negligence of the management of the Seven Six Balikpapan Nightclub (THM). This investigation was launched after officers arrested three female karaoke hostesses or lady companions (LC) who were caught distributing ecstasy and marijuana at the venue.

The disclosure of this case is part of Operation Antik Mahakam 2026, which was conducted both covertly and overtly last weekend. The Director of the Drug Investigation Directorate of the East Kalimantan Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Romylus Tamtelahitu, explained that the large-scale operation involved hundreds of joint personnel from various police units to the TNI Military Police.

The chronology of the arrests began when officers detained two lady companions, identified by their initials R and D, in one of the rooms at Seven Six Nightclub. From them, police seized eight ecstasy pills and Rp7 million in cash, suspected to be transaction proceeds. Initial interrogation led police to a third suspect, identified as T, who was subsequently arrested along with additional evidence of dozens of ecstasy pills and several packages of ready-to-sell marijuana at her boarding house in the South Balikpapan area.

Suspect T confessed to obtaining the illegal drugs from a supplier identified as SA, who is currently on the wanted list (DPO). In addition to hunting down the main supplier, investigators are now focusing their probe on the entertainment venue's management, the operator of the hotel located in the same area, and the agency representing the lady companions, to determine the extent of their negligence or involvement.

The East Kalimantan Regional Police emphasized that they will issue official summonses and written warnings to the management of the nightclub and the hotel. The police will also not hesitate to recommend the revocation of the business operating license to the local government if drug trafficking activities are found at the same location again in the future.
