The Faculty of Sports Science and Health at the State University of Jakarta (FIKK UNJ) has officially strengthened its strategic collaboration with the Executive Board of the Indonesian Domino Sports Association (PB PORDI). This synergy was realized through a National Seminar entitled “Domino Sports in a Holistic Perspective” held at the UNJ Sports Hall Auditorium on Friday, June 26, 2026.
This event marks an important momentum in efforts to elevate the status of dominoes from a mere recreational game to a professional, inclusive sport based on scientific study. Through the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (SPK), both institutions are committed to integrating sport science, health, psychology, and industrial aspects into the development of the domino ecosystem in the country.
Dean of FIKK UNJ, Prof. Nofi Marlina Siregar, emphasized that university involvement is crucial in providing a foundation of measurable research and innovation. According to her, dominoes have a broad dimension, ranging from enhancing cognitive functions for health to creative economy potential that can be developed through more modern organizational governance.
The seminar featured experts from various disciplines, including international sports industry practitioner Clifford Lee and health expert from BPOM, Prof. Armyn Nurdin. The speakers discussed the importance of leveraging technology and data to support athlete performance and strengthening social cohesion through domino communities spread across Indonesia.
This collaborative step is expected not to stop at discussion forums alone. FIKK UNJ and PB PORDI target program sustainability through joint research, curriculum development, and organizational mentoring to produce superior human resources. This synergy is projected to be a tangible contribution of the educational world to the success of the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision through a more competitive and globally dynamic sports transformation.
