Mayapada Hospital Bandung (MHBD) has officially launched the Pediatric Center facility, an integrated pediatric healthcare center designed to be child-friendly and comprehensive. The inauguration, held during an event themed "Cheer & Care Day: Celebrating Children's Day, Elevating Pediatric Care," coincides with National Children's Day. This step is a concrete realization of the hospital's commitment to raising the comfort standards for pediatric patients and their families.
This latest service integrates all pediatric medical needs within one ecosystem, ranging from growth and development monitoring, early detection, specialized treatment, to a dedicated emergency unit. MHBD locates the pediatric inpatient ward (Pediatric Ward) on a single floor coordinated with the 24/7 Pediatric Emergency services. This layout is intentionally designed to facilitate access to emergency medical treatment while minimizing anxiety in child patients.
Director of Mayapada Hospital Bandung, Dr. Irwan Susanto Hermawan, MM, emphasized that the presence of the Pediatric Center is supported by the readiness of a cross-disciplinary medical team. This facility is backed by 11 pediatric specialists and subspecialists, and is equipped with a Child Growth and Development Clinic and a Neurobehavior Clinic. This innovation is expected to be a one-stop solution that helps parents monitor and intervene in child growth and development issues from an early stage.
In terms of clinical scope, this facility serves various fields such as gastrointestinal disorders, neurology, allergy-immunology, childhood cancer, blood disorders, and neonatology. Additionally, supporting aspects such as pediatric orthopedics, pediatric radiology, and urogenital surgery are also provided. To improve the child's physical comfort during medical procedures, the hospital also utilizes advanced technology such as a Vein Finder to make it easier to locate veins during IV insertion.
The importance of early detection was also emphasized by Dr. Stephanie Supriadi, Sp.A, who urged parents to be more sensitive to physical and behavioral changes in children. Meanwhile, Dr. Eddy Fadlayana, Sp.A(K), M.Kes, reminded that a child's first five years are the golden period. Through regular monitoring in this integrated clinic, potential barriers to child growth and development can be identified and optimally intervened for their future.
