Commemorating the 42nd National Children's Day (HAN), the Indonesian Community Sports Committee (KORMI) of Situbondo Regency collaborated with the local Department of Population Control, Family Planning, Women's Empowerment, and Child Protection (DPAC2KB). This collaborative step aims to encourage the younger generation to shift from passive habits toward more productive and healthy physical activities.

As a concrete manifestation of these efforts, a calisthenics sports competition was held in the Situbondo Square area on Sunday (26/7/2026). The event, initiated by the parent organization of the Indonesian Physical Bodybuilding Association (PERBAFI) Situbondo, successfully attracted participation from young athletes in the Tapal Kuda region, such as Bondowoso, Jember, and host Situbondo regencies.

The Chairman of KORMI Situbondo Regency, Hariyanto, appreciated the enthusiasm of the participants who demonstrated physical strength through calisthenics movements. According to him, the sport, which utilizes one's own body weight as training resistance, is packaged attractively in a competition format to spark children's sportsmanship.

The collaboration between KORMI and the relevant department is expected to serve as an educational tool for children to be wiser in choosing beneficial activities outside school hours. The momentum of this HAN commemoration is also a starting point for KORMI Situbondo to expand the scope of community sports development programs to schools, from elementary to high school levels.

Through this step, KORMI Situbondo is committed to providing a platform of appreciation for productive-aged children to channel their non-academic talents. The hope is that the younger generation will not only focus on classroom achievements, but also possess physical fitness, self-confidence, and proud achievements in the field of sports.
