Facing the era of digital disruption dominated by Artificial Intelligence (AI), Ibnu Hajar Boarding School (IHBS) is taking strategic steps in its educational system. IHBS is committed to producing graduates who are not only technically proficient, but also possess a solid moral foundation based on Islamic values.
This statement was delivered by the Supervisor of the Cahaya Ilmu Islamic Da'wah Foundation, Ustaz Abdullah Ashim, during the graduation ceremony for elementary, junior high, senior high, and Mahad Aly levels for the 2025/2026 academic year in Bogor on Sunday (5/7/2026). According to him, AI should be viewed as a strategic opportunity to build civilization, provided its development is guided by Islamic principles.
Ustaz Abdullah expressed hope that IHBS alumni who go on to become scientists or technology developers can serve as agents of change while firmly holding onto their religious identity. He emphasized that technology should serve as an instrument of public good, rather than a tool that undermines society's moral order.
Since its establishment in 2010, IHBS has implemented an integrative curriculum that combines general education with the reinforcement of religious values. Students are encouraged to excel in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), while being equipped with an understanding of moderate Islam or wasatiyah. This concept teaches students to maintain a balanced and inclusive approach in responding to the dynamics of the times.
In addition to the academic curriculum, IHBS strengthens spiritual aspects through the Diniyah and Mahad Aly programs, which offer full scholarships for prospective Islamic preachers to serve across various remote corners of the country. Through this year's graduation, IHBS reaffirms its vision that the future requires individuals who combine intellectual intelligence with high integrity and moral responsibility.
