The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) on the Indonesia Stock Exchange showed fairly solid resilience throughout the trading period of July 6 to 10, 2026. The domestic capital market's main index managed to close at the level of 5,924.360, recording an appreciation of 0.83% compared to the previous week's close at 5,875.780.
The increase in the index was positively correlated with the total market capitalization value of the Exchange, which also rose by 0.51%. In nominal terms, market capitalization now stands at IDR 10,340 trillion, up from last week's position of IDR 10,287 trillion.
In terms of trading activity, market participant interest was observed to have increased significantly. The average daily transaction frequency surged drastically by 29.69% to reach 1.87 million transactions. Similarly, the average daily transaction volume strengthened by 16.83% to 20.49 billion shares. However, this optimism was not followed by the daily transaction value, which actually contracted by 8.88% to IDR 10.27 trillion.
Behind the strengthening of the index, the domestic market is still overshadowed by negative sentiment from foreign investors who continue to sell off shares. At the close of trading on Friday (10/7), foreign investors recorded a net sell of IDR 421.70 billion. Accumulatively since the beginning of 2026, the total value of foreign net sells has reached IDR 76.15 trillion, indicating that foreign capital flows still tend to avoid the domestic stock market despite the IHSG being in a recovery trend.
