In 2008, a harsh reality in a Malang ward stirred the conscience of Ahmad Hasyim Wibisono. He witnessed a diabetic patient lose their leg to amputation simply due to inadequate wound management. That event became a turning point for Hasyim, who felt called to find a more effective care method to save patients' limbs from amputation, which is often seen as a last resort.

Hasyim undertook a long academic journey, starting from Brawijaya University to studying diabetes management at Flinders University, Australia. Armed with this knowledge, he founded Pedis Care, a home-visit-based healthcare service focusing on chronic and diabetic wound care. This initiative came as an answer to the lack of education and conventional wound care standards in society.

Over time, Pedis Care began integrating artificial intelligence (AI) technology to improve diagnostic accuracy. Through smartphone cameras, the AI system is now capable of instantly analyzing the area and depth of a wound. This innovation allows the medical team to determine treatment strategies much faster, while ensuring patients receive targeted professional guidance.

Hasyim overcame the challenge of building public trust through massive education campaigns on various digital platforms and seminars. Not only focusing on technical aspects, Pedis Care also embraces the humanitarian side through cross-subsidy programs and collaboration with philanthropic organizations. This ensures that access to high-quality care is not limited to the affluent, but can be accessed by all levels of society.

Today, Pedis Care has evolved into an integrated healthcare service providing physiotherapy, laboratory tests, and medical equipment rental. Despite receiving various prestigious accolades, for Hasyim, the greatest satisfaction remains seeing patients recover and return to activities with their families.
