Jakarta has marked a new historical milestone in the national sports landscape with the hosting of the FIP Bronze and FIP Promises 2026 international padel tournament. Held at RANA Grounds, Mampang, South Jakarta, this event marks the first time Indonesia has been trusted by the International Padel Federation (FIP) to host an official championship featuring international players.
General Chairman of the Indonesian Padel Association (PBPI), Galih Dimuntur Kartasasmita, revealed that the inclusion of the FIP Promises category is the main attraction. The tournament opens doors for young athletes in youth age groups to experience a world-class competitive atmosphere early on, which is expected to accelerate the development of local talent to become increasingly competitive.
Echoing these sentiments, General Chairman of KONI, Marciano Norman, expressed high appreciation for the rapid growth of padel in the country. He voiced high hopes that padel will not remain merely a lifestyle trend, but can also grow into a flagship sport capable of achieving proud milestones for Indonesia on various international stages, much like futsal or tennis.
RANA Grounds Mampang itself welcomes this tournament as proof of their high-standard sports facilities. Featuring eight super panoramic padel courts verified by the Federación Española de Pádel (FEP), the venue is fully committed to supporting PBPI's vision to advance padel sports not only nationally, but also across the Asian region.
The competition features over 200 athletes from various countries, including Spain, Mexico, Argentina, and Kazakhstan. In addition to being an arena to compete for international ranking points, this tournament serves as a strategic warm-up for Indonesia before hosting the FIP Asia Promises scheduled to take place this coming November.
