The National Sports Committee of Indonesia (KONI) of Blitar Regency has officially launched an innovative program titled "KONI Goes to School" to scout and nurture the potential of young athletes from an early age. The initial step of this development program was carried out to coincide with the School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS) at UPT SMP Negeri 2 Srengat on Monday (13/7/2026).

Chairman of KONI Blitar Regency, H. Beky Herdihansah, explained that the presence of the institution he leads in the school environment aims to spark interest in sports among new students. Through this program, KONI is committed to assisting students in identifying and channeling their hidden athletic talents.

According to Beky, sports are not just a medium to win medals or achievements on paper. Beyond that, physical activity is an important instrument in shaping the outstanding character of the younger generation, such as discipline, sportsmanship, responsibility, hard work, and a high fighting spirit. During the socialization, students were presented with live demonstrations from various sports branches to make it easier for them to determine their interests.

Through this initiative, KONI Blitar Regency hopes that students will not hesitate to take steps and try new sports. Consistent training from an early age is expected to produce high-performing local athletes who are ready to compete at the regional, national, and international levels.
