Djuanda University (UNIDA) once again held the Muslimah Tauhid Study at the Baitul Hamdi Mosque (MBH) UNIDA on Friday (31/7/2026). This religious discussion featured an academic from the UNIDA Graduate School, Dr. Lina Herlina, S.Hum., M.Pd., who thoroughly explained the importance of self-leadership and the wise use of technology for Muslim women.
In her presentation, Dr. Lina emphasized that the essence of leadership begins with the ability to control oneself before leading others or holding a position. According to her, a Muslim woman's readiness to lead herself is a crucial foundation for facing life's dynamics, especially amidst the rapid flow of the challenging digital era.
Highlighting the rapid development of artificial intelligence or Artificial Intelligence (AI), Dr. Lina reminded the audience of the importance of being critical of digital information. She highlighted the phenomenon of instant AI-based religious content, whose accuracy is not necessarily in line with the Al-Qur'an and hadiths, thus demanding strict verification (tabayyun) from users.
Furthermore, she also urged Muslim women to use social media as a tool for spreading Islamic values and preaching, rather than as a platform for showing off or demeaning others. Amidst the rise of AI-based visual manipulation, caution in filtering and sharing content is a must to maintain social harmony.
In closing, Dr. Lina emphasized four character pillars that must be maintained by every Muslim woman, namely trustworthiness (amanah), honesty, discipline, and wisdom in using social media. She reminded that technology is only a tool, while human intellectual and spiritual potential must continue to be sharpened independently based on Islamic values to benefit the wider community.
