The atmosphere in front of the Tegal City DPRD Building on Friday morning, July 3, 2026, was marked by a rally organized by a community group calling themselves Rakyat Tegal Bersatu (Ratu). The presence of the crowd drew attention amid the heated issue surrounding opposition to the opening of a nightlife venue in Sumurpanggang Village, Margadana District.
Action field coordinator Hadi Santoso emphasized that the crowd's movement was purely a show of support for the sustainability of the investment climate in the Maritime City. He dismissed suggestions that this action was a counter-protest to previous demonstrations, adding that the event also included a joint istighotsah prayer chant.
Hadi explained that investment is of vital urgency for regional economic development. According to him, the influx of business capital directly correlates with the creation of new jobs, which in turn will boost the welfare of local residents and accelerate the overall progress of Tegal City.
Furthermore, the organizers expressed their appreciation to the Tegal City Government for trying to maintain regional stability. They hope the government remains open to various investments that bring a positive impact for the benefit of the community and the future vision of city development.
The rally, which took place on Jalan Pemuda, proceeded peacefully and in an orderly manner. Police personnel were deployed at the location to ensure the situation remained conducive throughout the expression of aspirations.
