The Ho Chi Minh City Government has officially transferred operational responsibilities as the Standing Body of the Steering Committee for Science and Technology Development, Innovation, Digital Transformation, and Project 06 to the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department. This strategic move was formalized through a handover process of documents and data systems, witnessed directly by the Vice Chairman of the Municipal People's Committee, Nguyen Manh Cuong.
During the handover, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology transferred all coordination functions, ranging from providing technical advice and monitoring work programs to the database system for tracking task progress. All crucial documents supporting the operations of the Steering Committee are now under the authority of the police to ensure the continuity of integrated policies.
Vice Chairman of the People's Committee, Nguyen Manh Cuong, emphasized that this transition is not merely an administrative shift but an effort to enhance organizational effectiveness. He stressed that the city's targets remain consistent, demanding more substantial quality, faster progress, and measurable results in the implementation of digital transformation at the local level.
Responding to the mandate, the Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department, Colonel Nguyen Dinh Duong, expressed his commitment to immediately integrate the new system. The police will establish a specialized unit tasked with reviewing all documents and identifying obstacles on the ground to ensure the committee's operations run optimally from day one of the transition.
As an initial step, the police are targeted to complete a comprehensive evaluation within the first 100 working days. This step includes synchronizing regulations and closely monitoring all set targets so that the city's vision for science and technology development can be realized in accordance with the standards expected by the Ho Chi Minh City Government.
