The joint Search and Rescue (SAR) team continues to intensify the search for two teenagers from Krinjing Village, Watumalang District, Wonosobo Regency, namely Arifin Nurohmat (18) and Yufaidin (15). Both were reported missing after leaving their residence without permission on Tuesday (6/30/2026).
Entering the sixth day of the search operation on Tuesday (7/7/2026), relevant authorities decided to narrow the search radius by focusing operations on priority points in the Mount Bismo area. The Krinjing hiking trail has become the primary focus due to strong suspicions that the two teenagers headed towards the mountain area.
To maximize results, the joint team is now utilizing thermal drone technology capable of detecting body temperatures amid dense vegetation terrain, as well as deploying sniffer dog units (K9). This step was taken after previous independent search efforts by residents and village officials yielded no significant results.
Head of Watumalang District, Arief Hardiyanto, stated that the sub-district government has coordinated closely with Basarnas to conduct a comprehensive field assessment. His team continues to monitor developments on the ground to follow up on information received by residents, although the whereabouts of the two teenagers remain a mystery to date.
The incident began when Arifin and Yufaidin were found to have left home together without their parents' permission during the day. So far, authorities are continuing to search along the route suspected to have been taken by the two teenagers while awaiting the latest reports from the team in the field.
